Impact Hub Celebrates its 1st Anniversary Party

On the 30th of October, the Impact Hub Antigua celebrated it’s first year of operations with over 50 people coming from all over Guatemala to celebrate the successes of the Hub and look towards the future. Hub mem bers from organizations such as the Casa de Algodón and Konojel came to the event to speak on their thoughts on the experience and benefits of being members at the Hub.

The Impact Hub Antigua, the first Impact Hub in Central America, and the second co-working space founded by Pomona Impact, is part of the global network of 73 Impact Hubs with over 11,000 members.

An Impact Hub membership allows people to travel and work in any Impact Hub in the world, providing a space for networking and collaboration between social entrepreneurs and impact investors.

Being part of the Anniversary party as well as being able to work out of an Impact Hub has shown me the value of co-working spaces as a viable option for entrepreneurs and investors to start their own businesses. Through the Hub I have met entrepreneurs from all over the globe and have witnessed them being able to work together on projects – it’s an ecosystem that wouldn’t be able to exist otherwise if the space hadn’t been developed.

Looking forward for the next year we hope to expand membership, keep making improvements on the Hub, and keep on meeting new and interesting people. In collaboration with the global Impact Hub organization we also hope to be able to seek out and start new Impact Hubs all throughout Central America so that entrepreneurs and investors will be able to have the dynamic work space that we benefit from on a daily basis here in Antigua.
